The Pale Wastes

North of the Roaring Plains, between the upper edge of the Dragonspire Mountains and around the Boreal Sea, lie the Pale Wastes. This region is characterized by pine forests and vast stretches of cold scrubland, which is all buried in snow for six months out of the year. Most of the people who live there are either mineral prospectors, exiles, outcasts, or recluses.

Natural Resources

One of the few things that draws people to the Wastes, besides the sheer remoteness of it, is the discovery of a few valuable mineral veins. Several dwarven mining communities have sprung up in the last fifteen years or so to take advantage of this. The region is also home to quite a few animals that people hunt for furs.
