Erdric Marcus, II
(a.k.a. Marcus Sands)
Marcus, second of his name, was the only Erdric not born of pure blood. He had a difficult upbringing, never truly finding himself until his 40th year. In his younger years he found it difficult to make friends, as the human adolescents in his social circles quickly outgrew him. While war had not touched the Ravosan borders, whispers of its spread had reached the ears of her people and many began to look upon Marcus with suspicion. Leto did his best to lay such whispers to rest quickly, but Marcus was not immune to their effects.
Despite all this, Marcus did eventually find peace, and the love of a human woman who saw past superstitions. Together they had four children, three daughters and the youngest, a boy.
In later years, while the Weeping War was well underway in the west, an emissary contacted the Erdric heir through secret channels. Informing him of the broken bloodline and the fate of his long forgotten family across the sea, he begged Marcus to return to the mainland and rally the people of Corwynth. Marcus, II refused, explaining that he would not abandon his family as his mother had abandoned him, sending the emissary away. In his last years, Marcus, II told his son of the Corwynthian's plea for aid.
