Caravel

The caravel is a smaller, highly maneuverable sailing ship developed by Ravosa to trade along the eastern Andeir seaboard. The lateen, or triangular sails, gives it speed and the capacity for sailing windward. The caravel was an improvement on older ships because of its effectiveness at sailing windward. Caravel planking on the hull replaced thinner, less effective planking. Ravosan caravels can reach lenths of about 65 feet and can carry roughly 130 tons of cargo.
