War of the Phoenix

The Conflict

Prelude

The build up to the grand war was a slow, long process. It can arguably be said to have started with the founding of the Dark Empire of Flames in the year 17 P.C, when the Dark Empress Salvatrice brought her secret society, the Order of Obsidian Blood out of the shadows, reincarnating it as the Dark Empire of Flames. As the empire took roots in the Chivalier Isles and began spreading to the rest of the wider world, it became more oppressive and treacherous across all the nations it embedded itself in. Eventually, Salvatrice, craving yet more power, decided to wage war against the Elven land Tír Na Nóg, in what she believed would likely be a swift and simple takeover. Combining their forces, the various island nations of the Chivalier Isles were told to march against the Elven lands, and the war began.

Deployment

The war officially started on the 7th of the 4th, year 49 PC, when Salvatrice sent her Meletan armies to the shores of Tír Na Nóg, while ordering the armies of the regions that she controlled to follow. The nations that she had under her control at that point were:
  • Meletar
  • Briarwood [would later become a part of the Kingdom of Ourona]
  • Eskal [would later become a part of the Kingdom of Ourona]
  • Treica [would later become a part of the Kingdom of Ourona]
  • The Federation of Nusweytonosmyathuagua [would later become the Kingdom of Mórrer]
  • The Republic of Tréubía [would later become a part of the Lashelan Theocracy]
  • The Republic of Rúprúlía [would later become a part of the Lashelan Theocracy]
The war was initially expected to be a swift victory by most, as the only allies that Tír Na Nóg had were Arthuria (which was at the time a very small country) and small Dracostanian tribes, which wouldn't be capable of driving back the armies of the Empire of Flames.   Not all went to plan however, as the first few days of the war were rife with confusion. This was due to a longstanding pact between Tír Na Nóg and the leaders of Briarwood, Eskal and Treica. The leaders of these three nations: Petfinas Envoril, Lul Farfoot, and Asema Hunt, began openly denouncing the Dark Empire of Flames, starting a civil war between those loyal to the true leaders and those loyal to the empire. While this was going on, Meletan armies and the armies of Tréubía and Rúprúlía arrived at the beaches of Tír Na Nóg, starting what was known as 'The Battle for the White Beaches'. Notably, the Federation of Nusweytonosmyathuagua, was absent from all the combat. There was a lot of disagreement about whether Dwarven loyalty should be towards the empire or not after their tyranny and oppression, and so they elected to stay out of the war for the time being, much to Salvatrice's disliking.   During the first few months of the Battle for the White Beaches, there was little progression on either side. It didn't take long for the Arthurian military to reach Tír Na Nóg and lend military aid, however it wasn't enough to stop the conflict. Salvatrice's immense military force was eventually capable of making progress, driving the Elves off the coast, and back inland. This led to the Elves being on the losing side of the war for a significant while, letting the empire take over significant amounts of land. This all changed when Asema Hunt won the civil war on the 18th of the 9th, and with a united Treica, she was able to lend support to Briarwood and Eskal, leading to them winning their respective civil wars, and promptly lending aid to their allies in Tír Na Nóg.    ---After the first few months of The Battle for the White Beaches, there was little progression on either side, so Salvatrice sent a large number of her forces to try and drive back the Elves, which they successfully did. This led to the Elves being on the losing side of the war for a significant while, letting the empire take over large amounts of land. This all changed when the three nations that would become Ourona won the Civil War, and immediately sent a large number of their best-trained soldiers to support the Elves. The war continued waging on for a few years, with wins and losses on both sides, however, ultimately the Elves had to retreat towards their cities after 6 years. While this was happening, the empire deployed a lot of soldiers in Nusweytonosmyathuagua, and began oppressing the Dwarves a significant amount.   After a few more months of conflict, Ouronan forces moved to the empire of Nusweytonosmyathuagua, and helped rescue the Dwarven citizens from the dark empire. This event caused a massive retaliation from Salvatrice, who launched simultaneous attacks against Ourona and Nusweytonosmyathuagua, which caused large amounts of losses on both sides. This went on for several months, until both sides were forced to retreat. Following this were 4 years of cold war (from the 7th year till the 11th) in which there were no actual conflicts. This ended when there was a massive offensive by the Empire of Flames against Ourona, in which all six nations took part in. It was known as 'The Scourge of Ourona', and involved the three armies on the empire's side each attacking a different city. The tribes that would become Dracostan assaulted Treeton, the nation that would become Lashela attacked Pristim, and Meletar itself attacked Wheately. The following year of war resulted in a large number of Ouronan casualties, and forced a lot of the population to flee. A large number of people sought refuge in the area that would become Arthuria, but many also fled to other places in Ourona, and Nusweytonosmyathuagua.   With a large number of Ouronan forces being defeated, Salvatrice once turned her focus towards Tír Na Nóg once again. She sent out an army of 'Warmonger Warforged', that decimated through a large number of the Elven population, and was the start of ten years of war (from year 12 to 22), known as the Clockwork Skirmish - from the fact that a large number of clockwork devices were strewn across the battlefield from defeated warforged. This ended when a council of Dragonborn tribe leaders convened and voted to stop fighting for the Dark Empire of Flames, withdrew their forces in Tír Na Nóg and launched a direct surprise attack at various supply and logistical points in Meletar. This move allowed the few remaining Ouronan forces and the Dwarven armies to also invade Meletar to the best of their abilities. Salvatrice, seeing that the results of the battle were less and less in her favour, sent all of her armies to the Wastes in Meletar, wanting to take down as many soldiers on her enemy's side that she could.         After five more years of nearly continuous war across Meletar, with many losses on both sides, the leaders of Tréubía and Rúprúlía were both killed within a week of each other. This allowed two new leaders to rise to the position, and they both agreed that the empire caused nothing but trouble, and announced that they would join the opposition against the empire, and their opposition started on the dawn of the 999th day of the war. With all of the nations of the Chilvalier Isles against her, Salvatrice drew upon large amounts of dark, arcane powers, and joined the entirety of her remaining armies in _ valley. She decimated through thousands of soldiers single handedly, and imbued her soldiers with much of her powers, making them far stronger than ever before, even resurrecting large hordes of her armies to continue fighting. The two sides fought throughout the day, but eventually, midnight was reached,
