Shoka Blacksight

Description

Shoka seems completely unremarkable, save for the amount of scars she has - a great sign that she is not to be messed with. She wears dark clothes and keeps her hood on almost all times. She is most of the time hunched over, watching over for any threats - not an uncommon habit in Shaded Crack.

History

Shoka's parents had to flee Sweetwood during the Tunnel War. But every place they reached was already overflowing with refugees, so they had to flee all the way to Shaded Crack. During that time, Shaded Crack was ruled by the criminals of Amber Fallow, who took every opportunity to profit from the hungry and desperate refugees. Shoka's family settled there, and like all newcomers, the criminals took advantage of their plight.

As a result, Shoka grew up in extreme poverty. But her parents were loving, and taught her that the world will not give her anything for free - she has to take it herself. Shoka has kept this lesson in mind for her entire life, and earned everything she has on her own.

Shoka's rise to power came from two realizations: firstly, the criminals belonged to different criminal organizations, and they were not friends. If their competition faced unfortunate accidents, they would turn a blind eye to that. Secondly, after a decade of new refugees moving in and children growing up, necrites now outnumbered the criminals by a significant margin.

After gathering a group of like-minded necrites, Shoka started pushing out the outsiders, using every dirty trick she needed, and succeeded in only a few years. She took the main credit for the liberation of Shaded Crack, and publicly announced that necrites should put themselves first, and not let outsiders oppress them.

Present

In public, Shoka talks about keeping out the other races and how necrites should work with each other now that the whole world is against them. In private, she established her own criminal organization, with those early allies serving as her lieutenants. Shoka has set up numerous secret agreements to further her goals and is ready to sacrifice anyone to gain an edge. Only her lieutenants know how far her reach extends, and everything she did to reach her position.

Shoka knows that if she is the last aspirant standing, she'll become the tyrant by default. All she needs is a way to take out the competition, and the entire nation will bow to the Hidden Will. She is currently in Shaded Crack, leading her organization and amassing more wealth, weapons and power, waiting until the time is right to act.
