The First Circle
The First Circle are the five original vampires of the modern era, Dracula and the four followers who were turned along with him. Three of those vampires have since been killed; Dracula in 1895, Ciubotaru in 1925 and Grigoras in 1977.
Structure
Dracula was the official leader of the Circle, but his followers often acted on their own interests. The Circle was more or less a loose association of the founding vampires, and Dracula held only nominal power over the others.
Disbandment
The Circle vanished in all but name after the death of Dracula in 1895. The term is now used only by hunters, to denote one of the founding sires of modern vampires.
