Nazara is the northern region of the swamp lands on Kos. It’s home to the lizardfolk who thrive in the marshy landscape. THey are also known as great paper makers and use the grass that grows abundantly there to create everything. Fishing is also a staple part of life. Another type of grass native to the swamps is used to create reeds for instruments because it doesn’t expand when wet. THey believe that the gods of knowledge and music are brothers. There are very few roads in the swamps. Most travel is by boat, and the region is known for its shifting highways. There are roads that float above the marsh, but they drift. Towns sometimes get cut off because of the shifting roads, and foreign goods come at a premium. Nazara is unique in that it has a dedicated highway system for merchants to use because of imperial control. The place is natively unsuitable for horses. Instead, the people rely on great amphibious reptiles. The lizardfolk bond with one for life. Sometimes, formerly bonded creatures won’t be able to survive on their own in the wild, and injured animals may also be unbonded and used more like common beasts of burden. Bus in general, if a lizardfolk dies before their bonded creature, the creature will be returned back into the wild to live out a natural life.
