House Delsaran

House Delsaran rules the entirety of Mistwood - at least, those few parts of it that have been inhabited by Elves - and several coastal settlements south of Mistwood. Delsaran is a trichotomous country: the settlements along the Mistwood River are vastly different from those on the southern coast, which in turn represent entirely different ideals than Corcalen, the capital, and its many villages deep within Mistwood. Ultimately, these three cultures (the Riverborne, the Waveborne, and the Woodborne) share a single, unifying belief: Mistwood, and its denizens, must be protected at all costs.
Loshys, Enelad, and Taelcalen are the largest settlements which fall into the Riverborne category. They are responsible for maintaining a complex network of canals and tributaries, which allow the largest transporation ships to travel up the river and into Alohma's Basin and back. The Riverborne cities have either conjured or somehow employed a large number of Living Trees, creatures related to Treants but smaller in stature and greater in number. These Living Trees, affectionately referred to as River Walkers here, pull ships against the current of the river and into Alohma's Basin, where they are free to sail as they wish to other places in Locrati.
This exposure to many other cultures via sailors, traders, and merchants have shifted the boundaries of cultural latitudes in the three settlements, bringing them more in line with the diversity expected in House Fenglor. As a whole, the cities are still intolerant of actions and behaviors which could, in any capacity, affect the balance and health of nature.
The Waveborne settlements include Calethor, Eregaur, and Caradtur, among others. Each of these settlements are actually outposts for the Locratian Navy, but the harbormasters at each port are hand-selected by the Matriarch of Delsaran to ensure adherance to the laws and customs of Delsaran. The most frequently violated law is hunting animals for food; most of Delsaran have adopted an entirely vegetarian diet, with meat coming from carrion. Still, the sailors and staff of these militaristic outposts, through indoctrination, magic, or otherwise, have come to adopt the same protective attitude of Mistwood which is so ubiquitous in the Riverborne and Woodborne.
Finally, the Woodborne mostly consists of Corcalen and the innumerable unmarked villages that surround it. Highly secretive and almost completely bereft of visitors - even other Elves from Locrati. Little is known about the Woodborne and their culture other than their extreme protectiveness of Mistwood. The Matriarch, Tamaedra Delsaran, spends all of her time in Corcalen, unless she's been summoned for a meeting of the Underwood Alliance. Politically, Delsaran cares little for anything but the protection of Mistwood.
