Shivering Crag

The Shivering Crag is a scarcely inhabitable island, its eastern face entirely encompassed by a massive glacial cliff. The extremely low temperatures make life here difficult, though communities of Snow Elves still make their homes upon the island. This island was once rich with Esperite in the 2nd Epoch, but was mined out within a few centuries. Those Elves that moved here to make their fortune from the Esperite remain, making their harsh, cruel living here. The Elves that live here are unlike others, devoid of the artistic, often flamboyant flair of most other Elves have. The Snow Elves value practicality above all else, and are of a stockier stature. The territory offers scarce resources, and no noteworthy strategic value, except as a possible staging ground to assault nearby lands.
Snowy Owlbears and a few other exotic animals are only found upon this island, and highly sought after by foreign hunters for the lucrative pelts. The local Snow Elves have an ongoing pseudo-war with these foreign trappers.
