Meg, A Human Rogue/Pub Landlady

Written by AJ and Amy Snow.

Megara (a.k.a. Meg)

Orphaned at a young age, before being taken in and raised by a family friend, Bertie, Meg grew up over a pub. She was soon lending a hand in the kitchens and serving drinks. It wasn’t long till the old barman had her playing tunes with an instrument left behind. A fairly battered squeeze-box.   In her teens, Meg fell in with a local gang of thieves, running with them for some time, before the lack of formal education given to her by Bertie proved to be her downfall. Tasked with eliminating a problem for the gang, Meg assassinated the wrong person, having mistaken Phil, a lawman, for Quill the hairdresser.   As a result of this botched attempt at murder, Meg found herself under arrest; bound for a prison deep in the mountains. Through an inexplicable series of circumstances, Meg and her fellow prisoners found themselves trapped in a strange, unfamiliar demi-plane, and embarked on a desparate quest to find their way back to the Prime Material Plane, and Vallanna explicitly.   [Meg's adventures in the demi-plane can be heard in the 'Curse of Penance' series, by PENANCE RPG -http://www.penancerpg.com/curse-of-penance-rpg]   Meg does not talk much about her experiences in the demi-plane, but struck up lifelong friendships with the two other prisoners to escape it with her - Ozmand, A Tiefling Bard, and a fighter named Rosie. Following their escape, the trio travelled the countryside for a time, forming a band of their own, known as 'Karen and The Smotherers, featuring Ozmand'. After a while though, they all went their separate ways, amicably. Meg still bears the scars of her time in the demi-plane; both figuratively and literally; one side of her face marred with burn scars that never truly healed. She can still be heard cursing the name of the unskilled spellcaster who gave her the scars - a halfling named Tubbs, who did not emerge from the demi-plane with Meg and her friends.   Following her travels in the band, Meg chose to settle in the dwarven town of Shalefast, retiring from the adventuring life, buying property and opening a pub of her own called The Fantastic Squeeze-Box, which has become a popular drinking establishment in the town, for both the local dwarven population and visiting travellers.   In late-summer 1307 AoU, wanting an escape from the pub, if only for a short time, joined an expedition to climb The Winged Peak, let by a young adventurer named Jackson Black.   [Meg's adventure on the mountain can be heard in Episodes 69-71 of PRETENDING WITH DICE - - http://pretendingwithdice.podbean.com].
