Kelpie
Lurkers of the deep, Kelpies sift through the sands of The Border spitting acid at unsuspecting creatures who decided to take a swim in the restricted waters.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kelpies resemble large Rockfish covered in tendons that resemble seagrass which helps it blend into its environment.
Genetics and Reproduction
Kelpies cannot reproduce, so when the supply runs short more must be made.
Growth Rate & Stages
Kelpies never change in appearance as they grow old as a side effect of the spell that created them. Instead, they look as old as they were before they were transformed into a Kelpie.
Ecology and Habitats
Kelpies will only be able to survive in the environment they were created to live in, for example, there is a small difference between river Kelpies and Ocean Kelpies.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Kelpies lurk on the river floor than spit a coat of acid at its prey. Kelpie's digestive system and stomach are immune to this acid so once its prey is dead, it will swim over to devour it. Kelpies will eat almost anything that is made of meat and tends to share extra food with others of its kind.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Kelpies don't have great eyesight but they have a short range of tremorsense that help it identify its prey.
Origin/Ancestry
Kelpies are geneticly modified fish created by wizards of Klagos to enforce the strict laws of concervation over The Border.
Conservation Status
Kelpies cannot reproduce, but there is no shortage of wizards willing to help create more for a bit of coin.
