The One Eye (symbol)

The One Eye is a symbol allegedly used by secret global organizations. It can be found in official documents and old paintings disguised in the shadows or even brush prints of some paintings.   However, claims made towards the authenticity of this symbol are disputed, as it has been used by organizations in the past.   Sceptics have started to rise against the entire idea surrounding subliminal messages and symbols of this supposedly global secret organization, but there will always be those who believe it is all true.   In reality, there are no substantial proves of such an organization ever existing; in fact, the symbol has gained new symbolism during recent years, becoming that of civilian oppression, political oppression and media censorship instead of what it is originally thought to have originated from.   Organizations such as Anonymous have also used the symbol as a representation of mental empoverishment of the population under the great superpowers' censorship and population control.

History

There are 2 major theories that explain the appearance of the symbol in modern culture:   The first theory supports the idea that the symbol was introduced as a metaphor between how governments opress citizens and the magical eye present in Greek culture, the "eye that can see it all". This theory would imply that the symbol was introduced in the last 100 to 150 years.   Another theory points towards ancient Egypt as the origin of the symbol, which would later be used as part of classical Egyptian religion to symbolize God images. The symnbol would then be adopted into southern European culture and later be used as a representation of absolutism during the 17th century.   This last theory is the most widely accepted one, but there being little to no evidence has oput both theories under serious doubts by many, some even claiming Christianity or Judaism as the real origins of the symbol.
