Vix's Grave Settlement in Uto Daeg | World Anvil

Vix's Grave

Demographics

95% human. 5% half-elf

Government

Mayor Greeg Shodden was sort of elected, mostly told to assume duties. Heavily influenced by King's Forces, not Democracy.

Defences

A small guard patrol led by Fozzie, a Democracy soldier that knew Vorgan, Uriel, Bannorwick, and Peace. He has since turned to the King's Force and is a dignified sergeant in control of a dozen men who patrol the area. They were commissioned to set up a palisade wall when roaming goliaths were spotted.

Industry & Trade

Self-sustaining with the occasional passerby to spend coinage at the inn. The trade isn't much, maybe a Gleymorish merchant feels generous to trade a botched cut gem for cheap that they can turn around. The populace are farmers, either wheat or some other cereal or livestock that roam the moorland.

Infrastructure

A decent town hall that acts as the inn, mayor office and mayor's house is one of four buildings in the immediate vicinity. Other small farms or ranches are close proximity.

Assets

The town hall's inn is run by a couple Joz, a tan half-elf male, and Fennie, a dark human male. They sell some goods, but most are sold by Sem, a pale human girl with rumored whitemen blood at the general store.

History

The founder, Vix, built his house up on rocks that fell from the Ironbacks. His house, however, became his tomb when a storm fell from the mountains and crushed him. His friends who moved with him buried him, burning the house and blasting the stones. From then on it became a sort of transient's resting stop but none really lingered.

Architecture

Short with roofs of slate or moss and gray slate cornerstones are the modes found here. Timber from the mountains are heavily used in the interior of the buildings and exterior walls.

Geography

The descending foothills of the Ironback which are really the descending foothills of the Manduskians, a gentle rolling plain extends around Vix's Grave, bleeding into the tall woods of the Holy Forest and the clear, slanted East Heath.

Natural Resources

Plenty of farm animals and livestock comprise Vix's Grave. Chickens roam from nearby farms, the old ranch to the west houses several head of cattle and donkeys.
