Pepper Pumpkin Stew

South of Dalth'it and west of Ridgegate rises Medder Forest. Unshackled from the peaceful restraint Manaron and his lineage had over it, the forest is now wild once more. Just outside the wild trees and hills, though, grow very special pumpkins year round.
Just to the southwest and southeast of the forest, riding the outskirts are the purple and gray pumpkin patches. These pumpkins went unnoticed by travelers and merchants for a long while due to their unappetizing appearance. The locals, however, knew which were good and which were not.
Curiously, both colors of pumpkins drew some weird mineral from the soil only found in the forest. This mineral doused the pumpkins in their weird color, and their meat contains little black specks. Many assumed this to be rot or something akin to it. Locals, however, know this to be literal pepper.
The recipe is simple: 1–2 pepper pumpkins, celery, onions, turnips, and parsley. Roast or boil the pumpkins and carve them out. Throw it all in a pot for stew, cooking everything together. Serve in a bowl with the vegetables on the side if sliced or in the soup is diced.
This stew has warmed the bellies and homes of the simple folk to still brave the outer forests. The tradition they share freely and they fear no copying or thievery of their food, for who would be so foolish as to brave even the outskirts of the haunted Medder Forest?
