Archdemon

An Archdemon is a creature of utter chaos that has found its way into ruling one or more layers of the Abyss, a plane aligned with chaos and evil. They take many forms and they aren't necessarily all Fiends, as anyone with a penchant for suffering and enough power to depose an Archdemon is able to rise to the title. Most notably, the goddess Achlýs is a Celestial who claimed the 433rd layer as her domain upon her birth. As the Abyss is comprised of an unknowable number of layers, there are thus an unknowable number of Archdemons. However, those that rule more than one layer are often called "Demon Princes" or "Demon Lords". The most powerful Demon Lord is the minor deity Lolth, who controls nearly one hundred layers from her home in The Underdark.
