Blade Cliffs, The - aka Cloudbreak

These two runs of narrow but steep mountains stand like blades lying on their side. The sheer cliffs of granite create a flat valley between them, which is quite dry.  Rivers converging from the mountains in the west divert south before their western edge.  As rain clouds make their way north, whatever moisture they still hold is shed onto the southernmost face, known as Cloudbreak.  Consequently, the narrow valley between and the land north of the blade cliffs is very dry with few settlements sticking close to the minor river banks. South of them, lakes and forests form in where the land is a bit lower.
