The Feywild
Also known as the Plane of Faerie, the Feywild is an Inner Plane and one of the two mirror dimensions of the Prime Material Plane. According to Teghneist teaching, it is also one of the three Solaric Planes, with the other two being the Shadowfell, and Mechanus. It is likely the origin of Elves, and is made up of exaggerated reflections of the natural world of the Material Plane.
Geography
The Plane of Faerie, as a mirror dimension, is composed of reflections of elements of the Prime Material Plane. Where the Shadowfell's shadows are dark and devoid of all life and emotion, the Feywild is the opposite. Trees grow to incomprehensible heights, while mountains form in gravity-defying ways, and rivers flow uphill. There is abundant plant and animal life, even in the reflections of arid wastelands.
The most powerful beings of the Feywild are the Archfey, who are mostly divided into the courts of Summer and Winter, or Seelie and Unseelie as they are sometimes known. Some Archfey, such as the Border Lord, are part of neither court. Most lesser beings in the Feywild also owe allegiance to one of the Courts, though all but the most loyal spend most of their time acting in their own interests. The lesser Fey that are not aligned with a court are known as Wild Fey.
The nature of the Feywild is one of chaos, and that extends to all four dimensions. Locations seemingly move about randomly, and the flow of time relative to the Material Plane is completely unpredictable to mortals. The most powerful Archfey - the Queens of each court, as well as the Border Lord - are supposedly capable of altering the flow of time in certain locations, or possibly for certain individuals. Additionally, those without Fey ancestry generally forget any time they spend in the Feywild without the aid of magic, which combined with the strange flow of time, can often result in people inexplicably losing portions of their lifetime.
Localized Phenomena
The Seelie Court and Unseelie courts are constantly at odds with one another, despite their symbiotic relationship. This conflict very rarely breaks out into open war, and more commonly the two courts engage in proxy conflicts in the Material Plane or employ espionage or diplomatic maneuvering against one another. The struggle between Summer and Winter is believed to be the cause of the perpetually shifting climate on Ura, and was believed to be the cause of the planet's seasons until recent scientific advancements.
