Tuomas III of Giltbough
Tuomas III of Giltbough was the third Vulpine King of the Kingdom of Giltbough. He was crowned after the death of his father Hugo II. Tuomas was well-liked as a prince, regularly taking over court duties as his father's age and health declined. During his court sessions he built a reputation as the sort of man who would do anything within his power to find an equitable solution for all parties, including using royal funds to assist families who were unable to pay both their taxes and afford food. After his coronation this reputation continued and despite the Royal Family's coffers being worse for wear, the people of Giltbough thrived. Tuomas's reign, while popular, would not last long; within two years of his coronation he was stricken with a mysterious illness that not even the Court Alchemist could identify. With no heir, Tuomas named his sister Elisabet his successor. Two days after she formally accepted the position, Tuomas passed from his illness.
Early in Tuomas's short reign, a land dispute with the Commonwealth of Glenhaven threatened to spill out into open warfare between the nations, but between the honor shown by the Royal Knights and Tuomas's own negotiations with the High Council wider conflict was narrowly avoided. Tensions between the two nations never quite diminished, however, and Elisabet inherited them after her own coronation.
