Gerome the Gnome

The Gnome Gerome Unknown...to him

You know him, you love him, he is the one, the only: Gerome the F***ing Gnome! Gerome is an interesting addition to the adventuring group known as The Thirteen. By Interesting, I mean half the time he doesn't actually remember the group members or even that he's a part of it.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

He is a very old gnome, and looks as small and frail as you would expect a gnome of almost 400 years to be

His face is worn with the wrinkles that can only come from centuries of smiling.

Special abilities

Although he doesn't remember it half the time, Gerome is a very powerful magic user and has employed those abilities to save his traveling companions on more than one occasion.

Personal history

Gerome is a very old gnome   His story starts a long time ago in a distant land. how long ago and which land he no longer quite remembers. He thinks he is roughly 345 years old but suffers from a sickness of the mind. Not a sickness to be sad about, he is quite content with his life and wanderings.   On a clear day Gerome finds comfort in being a small point of happiness and light in an ever darkening world, on a less clear day he finds joy in making little people smile.   Although not generally remembered by Gerome he posses great magical power that has more often then not come to his aid in a moment of great need or alarm. But on a day to day basis he only Knows a few simples spells that he generally uses to entertain in a tavern or pub in exchange for food and a place for the night.   Once a scholarly sort Gerome used to study all sorts of fascinating topics, now days he relays the information he can still grasp as "fun facts" but he rarely finds him self in a situation or place where he cannot contribute to the conversation.   Though mostly forgotten his homeland still lives strong in him, he finds many foods and customs to be odd, and is often filled with a sense of arrogance in his way of living that comes from his days in his home land, however if ever asked about it he can't quite remember what his superior ways are and will become frustrated by this, though this frustration will quickly pass.   Gerome continually wanders and is wont to leave a place or group after a short stay. Often he will run into the same group or place but doesn't quite remember having met them or been there. Though his impressions of people and places linger long beyond the failing of memory.   Gerome dose not travel with much, a pack, walking stick, lute and a small gecko named bill. If asked Gerome will say bill is his oldest friend, but doesn't remember where he found him. Gerome can often be found talking to Bill and if one didn't know better you would think Bill talked back to him.

Employment

Driven by his pure desire to make people happier, Gerome often finds himself playing music or performing magic shows in local taverns in exchange for food and lodging.

Mental Trauma

As detailed above, Gerome suffers from a sickness of the mind and often forgets where is he and where he was going along with people he's met along the way.

Despite his memory shortcomings, Gerome has managed to piece together quite and impressive display of low level magicks for entertainment purposes.

Even though he often times wont remember them, Gerome has a very open soul and often finds there is much he can learn from even the most average people he meets along his travels.

Although he doesn't remember too much of the plain he hails from, Gerome is secretly convinced of the superiority of his place of origin and culture over that of the Unorrea plane in which he now resides.

Personality Quirks

Gerome possesses a strong code of honor and sense of propriety that others often don't comprehend. Furthermore, hailing from a far off plane of existence he has his own ideas of what is food and what is not food and he finds the eating habits of Unorrean's to often be very strange, occasionally fascinating and even sometimes revolting.   Interestingly enough he carry's with him a trinket from his homeland, and while he doesn't remember too much about where it came from or what exactly it is, one some primal level he knows that as long as he holds on to it he can surmount any obstacle he faces.

While Bill would never agree to being called a pet, Gerome has a pet gecko that lives in the lapel of his robe. They often converse with each other, to the bewilderment of all who witness it.
