All his life he was forced to try and be more like his older brothers. A good kid capable of becoming a productive member of society. He managed to avoid his father’s scorn by learning a lot about math and science but his mother kept telling him that he needed to do more for others, and be capable of earning a living with his knowledge. He wasn’t good at talking with most people, they used complicated words. He didn’t know how to help them or how to do what they wanted to get something from them. It was so much easier to just go and take. Especially with those who were smaller or weaker. But his mom kept saying that that was “not right”. But everybody knew that people had right to use their abilities to pursue their goals, and that was what he was doing! His mom told him about the mean people who proclaimed themselves rulers in the past, and how many suffered because the rules were made by people who didn’t want to share what they had, and twisted by those who wanted to take what they hadn’t worked for. She kept saying “mean” and “cruel”, like when people talked about the bad guys, but he understood those people, and didn’t understand how their rules were different from the current law. He had been obsessed with those questions for a while when his younger brother ran away. Bruce’s daring decision inspired him, and he suddenly got it: of course, they could never be good enough in these conditions, but there was no need to run. They could change the rules, it has been done a lot of times before! Of course, that required weapons, money, or a lot of people to support them. He couldn’t get what he wanted from people, whether that was money or their support, but he knew where to learn what he needed to build weapons. Ever since he knew, bad guys had been changing the way people applied the law. If he could become better than those people, he would be able to change it completely. His brother, clever even if he couldn’t do math, would probably benefit from an environment like that, and he would need help to conquer the world, right? When he invited him, Bruce was unconvinced, but he accepted to try anyway. And that’s how their journey started. As they learnt different things at the school, it became obvious that coming together had been a good idea. Their abilities complemented each other allowing them to achieve what was meant to be impossible.Relationships
