Personal History
All his life he was forced to try and be more like his older brothers. Either a good kid capable of becoming a productive member of the society, or at least strong and smart like David. His father would keep challenging to do impossible things and laugh at his face when he failed. His mother didn’t even sigh anymore, he wasn’t worth her time (besides, she was busy trying to fix David).
He was ten when he decided that he was done with that, and ran away. David followed him, not to convince him to stay but to give him an idea: they weren’t bad kids, they were just playing with the wrong rules; they just needed the power to change rules, and there was only one place in the city to learn how to seek power.
Bruce didn’t hope much, because he wasn’t smart enough to become a villain, but he had heard that the evil school would accept anyone. He just had to leave before the “exams”, a mysterious ritual that allows the school to pick which students to keep and which to use as victims to practice with (or so he had been told).
Maybe his brother would really change the world, too.
To his surprise, Bruce discovered that magic and dark arts were as easy as everything else in his life had been challenging. At first, he basked in the teachers’ praise and the jealousy of his peers, but soon he found himself enjoying the magic itself and growing curious about each detail involved.
Commonalities & Shared Interests
Maybe they were always closer to each other than to their other sibblings, but now they are particularly tied by the shared goal of creating the right rules to thrive.
