Akoomtet

Originally built in 10 Dragon as a base of operations for the freed Orcs Jam-jam had liberated, Akoomtet became the center of faith for the followers of Akoom for the majority of its history. The city itself is built of citadels on raised ground, surrounded by the main city, earning it the nickname city of castles. Akoomtet has never fallen to a foreign army.

The citidels

The city is made of a total of eight citadels surrounded by the walled lower city that houses the majority of the population. Each citadel is unique.

Citadel of the Prophet

The first and largest citadel built, it is stationed atop a mountainside plateau that once overlooked a small Phervian mining camp. The mining camp would turn into the lower city, while the citadel was built to defend it. The grand temple of Akoom was built within the citadel, giving it its purpose. The citadel holds everything required to run a military, as well as all the governance buildings.

Citadel of the dragon

A more curious citadel sprang up shortly after the Citadel of the Prophet on the opposite plateau. while this citadel doesn't focus as much on the military, it does supply the majority of the Paladin forces with weapons and armor. A center of industry, smoke rises from the citadel continuously as armorers, blacksmiths, and smelters work nearly continuously.

Citadel of the divine flame

The smallest citadel of the city, this was the main base of the ghost hunter inquisitors. While it only holds a small armory, training ground, and barracks it still functions as a proper castle. Positioned in the center of the city, It also functions as the entrance to the catacombs under the city. Curiously a fountain in the square outside its main gate holds a fountain with what is said to be the Sword of Akoom sticking out the top. This was repurposed as a temple to honor the dead, with clerics to Lady Death stationed there.

Citdel of water

Built up the mountainside, this castle protects the city's water source as well as doubles as a watch tower. Unlike other citadels of the city, this has a druid in charge of its spiritual needs rather than a cleric.

The black citadel

A heavily fortified citadel tucked away into the corner of the city. Its defenses keep people in as much as out. This is the city's prison, holding the area's most dangerous criminals, and the empires during its day, as well as the Demon Prophet's bones if the rumors are to be believed.

The Twins

A pair of citadels that function as the gatehouse into the city. While neither is very big, they are fully functioning castles with everything needed to withstand sieges on their own.

Rubycrest hold

Built over the old mine entrance, this has turned into a dwarven hold for the Rubycrest clan. This supplies the city with stone and metals in return for protection and food. It also acts as an entrance to the Underempire.
