The Bright Swamp

On a lower level, leaking radiation even two centuries after the events of The Great Seal  , sits a damaged nuclear power plant surrounded a radioative swampland. The wreackage of the reactor still burns and steams, and water drops down on it from above and settles on the floor around it. This water mixing with rubble and human waste from burst sewage pipes has created a swamp land that glows a sickly green and supports a forest of Geiger Caps. The glow has given the area the name 'The Bright Swamp'.

History

During the events of The Great Seal  the Nuclear Reactor exploded. [[A log entry from this time suggests this explosion was triggered on purpose - Dr Nathan Schmidt]]. All people present on the floor would have instantly perished, however the fail safes on the walls caused the doors to seal before the explosion. Never the less, enough damage was done to weaken the walls and floors to a point when holes have appeared allowing through water, people, and animals.
In the year 2151, logs were found in an old military data system that suggested the Nuclear Reactor was home to experimental military technology, and had a large number of military personnel stationed there. Numerous expeditions by scavengers have been launched, and all end in failure and death.
