The God Forge

Initially, this appears as a tiny anvil (about 1 inch high, weighs roughly 3 lbs) with a tiny rack holding several blacksmith tools attack to it (the tools do not come loose). The third piece is a small trough with a miniature bellow next to it. All three can easily be kept in a leather pouch, take up minimal room, and weigh less than 5lbs.   When the command word is spoken by someone with a blacksmithing skill of 15 or greater, then the items expand to full useful size. The tools now come loose from their rack and the trough is full of water.   Additionally, a 5x5 burning forge appears near the anvil. It takes a round for this to happen (or for them to revert to their carrying size.) The item can only be brought to its full size only once a day. Saying the command word again causes it to revert to its storage size.   Once the items are their full size, the owner gets the following abilities when using the forge.
  • All crafting times using the forge are reduced by 50. A weeks work now takes roughly 2 hours. All costs are also reduced by 50% (partially from less waste.) Raw materials are still required.
  • All craftsman with a skill of at least 15 using the forge get a +10 bonus to their skill. The Forge is a normal forge otherwise.
  • The GodForge is of sufficient quality to be used for any magical item creation requiring a forge, excluding possible artifacts (doesn’t eliminate the need for other components, just the forge is of high enough quality to be used should this ever be a question.)
  • Any weapon or armor crafted with the GodForge gets a +1 bonus to whatever other bonuses the weapon or armor would have otherwise been crafted with. All items are automatically crafted to masterwork level. This +1 bonus cannot be used to create an item over +4. (+5 weapons could be created, just the +1 can’t be used to help)
  • The Forge can be used to repair magical and normal metal items. Such items gain a further +1 bonus (which can’t go over +4) for the first 3 hours after repair. Any item sharpened, undented, etc, also gains this bonus. This is in addition to the crafting bonus if the item were created with the GodForge.
  • The Forge can also be used to destroy magic items (except artifacts). For this purpose, all magic items are considered non-magical. The forge deals 5d6 points of damage a round to anything placed on its anvil and hammered.
  • There is a single harmonic glitch with the Forge. No more than 10 items created with the forge can be within 100’ of each other or all 10 lose ALL enchantments until the situation is rectified. This does not apply to fixed or temporarily enhanced items.
