Ottavian The Traveler

An archaeologist of ancient worlds, he is possibly Perlachio Zenfellon's oldest friend. They go back long before Perlachio even started taking students.
An immortal himself, he is not from Perlachio's homeworld. Some speculate he may even be older than Perlachio. They were frequent traveling companions over the eons, sometimes going centuries between visits. Theirs was a friendship which always took up immediately where it left off, never dependent.
As far as his appearance, different accounts indicate different looks for him, though usually of the human subtype, but not always. He has been mentioned as a dwarf in some stories, as an elf in others. One series of stories has him being represented as a minotaur. While usually male, he sometimes is referenced as being female. Even then, he/she is never mentioned as being romantic with Perlachio. Some even speculate that Perlachio and Ottavian are the same being, just from different times.
That he was one of Perlachio's students is vague. That he joined the nine students in study under Perlachio is never questioned, though just what he learned from the Great Teacher is a matter of debate. It is probable he was there more as a teacher to the other students than as a full student himself.
Even when it came to creating the nine artifacts, Ottavian did not participate in the creation of his own item, it was a gift from Perlachio. If Ottavian ever named it is unknown, all references indicate he just called it the Large Satchel. Sometime later, he would modify the Large Satchel by adding the notorious stein for which the satchel is fabled.
When the students gathered one final time to search for their master, Ottavian was the only one they never could find either.
