Mid-Revel

The Mid-Revel is a three-day event that happens at the middle of the year within Chrailis. It doesn't set within any month, happening between the lesser months of Bulo and Tanlo.   Each of the days is named after the first three daughters of Si'Nassapherion. Si'Lachara, Fi'Luminaros, and Cri'Tinnious. Each day is often preceded with a 'Joyous', as in 'Joyous Si'Lachara Dau.'   All of the coteries participate in creating a celebration atmosphere for the entire city. They will host large parades which the citizens are free to join as they will. They will also host large masquerade parties and large street revels. Many bands will take this time to perform in any venue they can find. In years past, when the World Gate to Chrailis was more active, it had several visitors who came to the city specifically to enjoy the Mid-Revel.   During this time of revel, grudges and hatreds are to be put aside, lest the anger of Si'Nassa is raised. So strong is this that most fear enacting any sort of reprisal during these three days. Even the courts have special penalties added onto whatever charges already exist for those caught seeking vengeance.   Occasionally, Si'Nassa herself will fly around the city during Mid-Revel seemingly for the purpose of enjoying the celebration herself. Should she leave the city, her daughters will then fly around the city themselves.   One of the customs of the first day of Si'Lachara Dau is that employers will give gifts to their most loyal followers. As custom is, the gifts are usually themed somehow to Mid-Revel, meaning they are brightly colored and sometimes obnoxious in nature. The gifts should never be strictly utilitarian. Any gag gift is acceptable.   The second day usually focuses more on letting loose and the expectation is to travel the city. The heaviest drinking is usually on the second day.   The third and final day is a day of rest and reflection. Most will stay near their homes, enjoying the aerial shows the Coteries put on. A growing custom is for those gifted on the first day to in turn give their employer some sort of gag gift.
