Gashmyr World Dating

Due to the interconnected nature of Gashmyr with most of reality, the city itself is a temporal flux of timelines.   As a general rule, where another reality connects to Gashmyr, that is the time frame that holds sway over that section of the city. With different dimensions and different realities operating with time moving at different speeds, and further complicated by the city being associated with realities where time is skewed or nearly non-existent, the city has developed several means of timekeeping.   Most importantly, so that one section of the city can relate to another, is the dating system. When some timelines loop and certain sections of the city may line up at with different timelines at various locations, a timing convention was needed. The beginnings of Gashmyr on the time scale listed here is lost in antiquity of the city. The first known mention of this dating system was by Sir Azor Cadena of Flins.   A Gashmyr year is 360 days (6 x 60). The predominant counting system of Gashmyr is Sexigesimal (base 60). This is convenient for many species which use various smaller counting systems like base 2, base 3, base 4, base 5, base 6, base 10, base 12, base 15, and base 20.   Within the year are 12 months of 30 days. Each month is in turn 5 weeks of 6 days. Each day is 30 hours.   60 years make a cycle. 60 cycles make a phase. 60 phases make a sequence. 60 sequences make a period. 60 periods make an age. 60 ages make a scroll. 60 scrolls make a tome. 60 tomes make an orbit. 60 orbits make a pillar. 60 pillars make a floor. 60 floors make a temple. One temple is over 3.62e+19 years, or over 36,279,970,560,000,000,000 or over 36 sextillion years. That the aging system is in the 5th temple is truly a staggering thought if truly accurate.   Each time period has its own naming conventions, with 60 differentiations within it. The naming conventions, though they may go back well before first interaction with a realm often have similarities to that realm.   Cycles tend to be named after the deific personae of the associated realms. Like gods or prominent servants of the gods.
Phases tend to be named after land animals.
Sequences tend to be named after flying animals.
Periods tend to be named after swimming animals.
Ages tend to be named after plants and trees.
Scrolls tend to be named after gems.
Tomes tend to be named after minerals and rocks.
Orbits tend to be named after metals.
Pillars tend to be named after geometric shapes.
Floor tend to be named after emotions.
Temple tend to be named after abstract ideals.
