Cloak of Eyes
History
An old woman, a keeper of tales a travelers wanders for many long years before being being petrified by a gorgon
Eventually her statue is found and thought to be that of an unknown goddess. She is taken to a temple and kept there. Eventually the temple falls under siege and the statue is broken. A traitor to the temple takes some of the fragments.
It was once girls who gave their har to nobles who gave it to wizards who used it to steal girls eyes and wove them into the cloak. The noble who comissioned it wore it for years. Until he slept with a knights significant other and found himself at the wrong end of the knight's blade.
The cloak spent many years in a chest before being picked up by a child who grew into a knight. This knight lived during a time of rebellion and cut down civilians in the cloak until a cuthroat killed them.
The cuthroat wore the cloak until he tried to rob the wrong person, who killed him.
the one who killed the cutthoat took the cloak and showed it to his lover, who killed him and sold the cloak for money to a trader. The trader took the cloak and eventually sold it to Gwendolyn Fairspring.
