This is often combined with either a lesser fiery or choking smokey breath. Others yet may instead breathe a poisonous haze when rile. And a small minority a necrotic blast. Though those that have necrotic breath are seen as degenerate by many of their kind and are often outcast.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Black dragons have Incredibly strong stomachs and are able to digest things that few others could claim to. Their stomach acid is powerful enough to melt down rock, bone, metal and even certain kinds of glass, which is known to be very resistant to acid. Though this is not often desired as these materials offer them little in the way of sustenance as they require a far more varied diet in order to survive.
There has often been spread various unkind rumours of them dining on rotten flesh and leaving their meat out just to let it fester. This is entirely propaganda as most would only eat rotten meat as a last resort.

Black Dragons are known for their powerful acidic breath. This very acid has the unfortunate side effect of carving deep grooves in their jawlines over the ages.
