Ashen Ruins
Ashen Runis are the last surviving remnants from the ruins of Ancient History. Many of these have seen used by both the The Ancients and Ancestors. The later of which often used the former as a base or foundation for their later cities. The history of these places has left them with numerous ghosts and revenants. This coupled with the lingering "curses" that dot these lands make them very hazardous places to venture to.
The reluctance of civilized creatures to travel into these ruins has made them a safe-haven and prime nesting ground for numerous dangerous creatures that would normally be hunted down to extinction if they set up home in a less hazardous area. This along with research form the two main reasons why most people travel to these regions. As the little treasure there is, is too heavily guarded to be worth most treasure seekers risking their lives for.
