Sir Isteval

A former adventurer and Purple Dragon Knight of far-off Bevil, Sir Isteval is living out his retirement in Eastpoint Castle. Believing that the Bevilian Empire of yesteryear was a light to the world, a shining example of everything that a nation should be, he fought boldly against the forces of chaos and evil wherever they threatened the stability of his home realm.   As his power grew, he assembled several different groups of like-minded warriors to help spread the vision of Bevil’s glory. His uncompromising vision of justice earned him the enmity of the Bevilian nobility and he was eventually exiled. It is rumored that the assassin that brings back his head shall never want for riches again.   In a fateful battle against an ancient green dragon, Isteval suffered a grievous wound to his leg that has never fully healed. The wound resisted magical healing and he walked with a cane afterwards.   His wounded leg means that Isteval’s greatest quests are now behind him, but he has never lost his vision of Bevil as it should be—a beacon and bastion against encroaching darkness.   Isteval believes that Bevil’s greatest challenge is fast approaching, and unless its scheming nobles and corrupt knights and wizards can pull together in unity, the nation is in danger of being conquered by its enemies.   Isteval is a paladin of the Purple Dragons, and worships the Eos the goddess of dawn and new beginnings.   He sees great chaos on the horizon, which will be the birth pangs of a new age, and he believes against all evidence and reason that it will bring unprecedented peace and prosperity. Many trials yet lie ahead, but Isteval is convinced that at the end of his journey is a far fairer place.   Although he is no longer able to fight as he did in his youth, Isteval seeks to bring together a new, great company of brave souls to carry on his legacy, preserving his vision for future generations.   Sir Isteval is “retired” in Eastpoint Castle, but still works with the local guard, mercenaries and adventures to continue his crusade for justice.   Sir Isteval hosted the party during its stay in Eastpoint Castle after the party was defeated by demons and rescued by Prince Darfin Floshin.     Sir Isteval informed the party that gnoll activity has been increasing with sightings and small raids. Heard rumor of dragon sighting, but not sure if it was real.  His tactical advice was that Kidwell must be defended to ensure that Lady Lowri Arundel, the Countess of Kidwell maintains her power on earth.     His two henchmen and servants include:
  • Gregory, a large fighter, who is a large barrell chested man with wild frizzy hair tied back. He has the face of a boxer and large ugly ears, and speaks rarely, but loudly,
  • Jesup, a priest of Tya Nehru
  • Raymond, a cook and house servant, and
  • Jessabelle, a maid.
