Prince Darfin Floshin Character in Ugaron | World Anvil

Prince Darfin Floshin

Sir Darfin is serious and quiet, putting his duty to his estate and the town of Eastpoint Castle above his own needs. In his six centuries of life, he has never had a wife or children. In the adventuring days of his youth, when he was known as Darfin Longwalker, but has lived alone for centuries on his father’s estate and his house in town.   Darfin oversees the far-flung holdings of House Floshin in nearby foothills and keeps a close eye on the lands that surround them. He is a wary guardian, giving constant scrutiny to the cycles of living things, the health of the land, and how folk of Eastpoint Castle and the farms around can survive.   Darfin's father, Prince Elorfindar Floshin, aided and advised the rulers of Eastpoint Castle, often with the help of Darfin and Darfin's mother Lady Shalamrae. Much of the credit for Eastpoint Castle’s success can be laid at the feet of these three elves.   Long ago, elves of Darfin’s line vied for the royal crown of the Aebietus elves, but Elorfindar and his family were unwilling to wage war against their flesh and blood. Queen Ghilanna is the current queen of the Aebietus high elves, and the Floshin's await the time when they are called back to lead their people.   Upon Elorfindar’s death, Darfin, as the first born, inherited the Floshin Estate. Accustomed to years-long journeys to distant lands while his father lived, “Longwalker” now feels tied down.
Darfin is not as concerned with the warring ways of humans, dwarves, gnolls and orcs, although he firmly supports the forces of good over evil. Instead, he seeks to keep darker forces of true evil at bay.
Darfin is also unconcerned with human religious disputes, and finds the disputes between the followers of Tya Nehru and the Katheroi humorous, if they were not deadly.    Humans are incredibly narrow minded to think that their cosmological view of the universe is in any way correct, when the elves and their gods existed before humans even did.    How can Tya Nehru have created the world, when she and her humans did not even exist when the elves were already old?
Darfin rescued the party, and asked the party to go toward Thunderdelve. Trade to the Underdark from Thunderdelve has recently stopped.
He believes that the Dragon Calastryx has returned, which means that the forces of chaos and evil have also returned. Last time they did not have an alliance with the forces of the Underdark, but this time they will be aligned.
Darfin explained to the party that there will be three fronts: 1) Sentinel Fortress; 2) Kidwell and Eastpoint Castle, and 3) Thunderdelve, with demons supporting all three.
Darfin believes the only one that matters is from Thunderdelve because this will be lead by the Drow priestess Dhaunee.
The rest can be vanquished if they fall, but if Hammerfast’s necropolis falls to the drow, then there shall be 1,000 years of darkness.
After the part decides to proceed to Sentinel Fortress, he says he will head to Safian Hollow and the Aebietus elves to discuss things with Queen Ghilanna to see if they can overcome their long distrust of the dwarves.
