Harmarthen

Harmarthen is a small Celtic village in the tribal territory of the Venebones, one of the six tribes of the Nation of Galletica. It likes along the South Kozar River, and is a key trading location for overland travel inland into the lands of the Venebones and Albae to Northern Fultar and the town of Immersea. Most trade to Fultar and the large town of Critlip continues downriver to Trindad, one of the towns in the Gildam Confederacy because the journey via the sea in peacetime is far less dangerous and quicker. The village generally serves to be a trading hub for pelts, wool, lumber and other Celtic coming from the inland and processed goods from Bevil and the cities of Bondar and Buntar entering the southern Celtic lands. It is four days from Bondar and Buntar, with nightly stops on the trip to Harmarthen at Caernarfon, Ponciau and an uninhabited way station at the foot of a hill with a ruined Fultonian castle, Caer Rhufenadd overlooking the river. The trading company of Rhodri Fawr has a small operation here, led by their agent Escinos, a blond Celt with handlebar mustache.
Harmarthen is situated at the location of a long abandoned Fultonian outpost, with moderately well maintained ancient Fultonian roads leaving both south and east.   Harmarthen is famous of its three giant, monumental swords that greet travelers heading south down the Kozar River. The three bronze swords stand over 30 feet tall and are planted into the rock of a small hill next to the riverbank.  They memorialize the victory of the Celtic invaders over the Fultonians nearly a millennium ago soon after the Guar Conquest of Fultar and the Arrival of the Great Worms. The largest sword represents the victorious Celtic King, and the two smaller swords represent the vanquished Fultonians. The monument also represents peace, since the swords are planted into solid rock, so they may never be removed.
