Tarana's Clearing
A clearing surrounded by fir and pine trees where a decrepit-looking caravan is located near a creek and an unlit campfire with a tripod of sticks for cooking.
It is here that Tarana LeSable has lived in solitude for years, since she was a child, and even more so with her sister before she left on a self-searching journey. The clearing has everything she could need: sunlight, fresh air, great views, and water for cooking.
The clearing connects to various locations in the forest via dirt trails that Besnik or other riders have made as they went back and forth. It takes about ten minutes to make it to the secluded pond and ten more to get to the flowered meadow.
While Tarana's caravan has been relocated to multiple places around Baromund Forest — for safety reasons — it always seems to come back to this clearing.
History of the Clearing
When the power of the Attraction Curse became too much of a burden for the LeSable sisters, fourteen-year-old Tsuna made the life-altering decision to move her and her nine-year-old younger sister into the nearby Baromund Forest. She knew that within the forest, the odds of being discovered by men would diminish greatly. After planning accordingly, Tsuna hitched up their caravan to their horse, Nivor, and guided them beyond all they knew in Asrail and into the unknown of Baromund. The forest instantly provided a sense of safety. Still, Tsuna didn’t allow herself to settle. Not yet. She was determined to find something more than a temporary shelter, a place hidden enough to protect and sustain them, and steady enough for two young girls and their horse to live in for the foreseeable future.
She didn’t stop searching until she found it.
Nivor was a huge help on the journey, serving as the eyes and ears Tsuna didn't have. He alerted for danger and would lead them away from it. Tsuna, meanwhile, used her young intelligence to rule out good places to camp for the night.
There were a few places that she had chosen at first. A beautiful spot surrounded by flowers. However, the wildlife's silence told her it wasn’t safe. A shaded grove was next, but when it rained, the ground flooded or a hidden dip that had no sunlight for warmth or growth. She didn’t let this keep her or Tarana down. She pressed on.
One day, though, she found a clearing surrounded by fir and pine trees. It seemed perfect: the trees opened just enough, light filtered in, there was a nearby creek for water, and the air felt still in a good way. Tarana immediately took to it, running, playing, and finding butterflies, and most importantly, Nivor relaxed here. Tsuna knew they had found the right destination. Their home. The first night, she stayed up and kept watch, and when she was safe in the morning, she solidified her decision to make the area their official home.
