Athailia, God of Storms and Unrest
In the earliest of times, after the creation of the land and of the seas, as Uarin's living creations spread across the land they cried out, for the nurture of the seas where far from them. Thus Agaim, the god of the waters, sought to craft a counterpart—a deity that could bear the turbulent might of the oceans and harness it to shape the destiny of the lands above. From the depths of Agaim's domain arose Athailia, the tempestuous deity destined to wield the fury of the seas and strike a balance between the benevolent embrace of Agaim and the nurturing touch of Safa.
In the divine narrative, Athailia emerged as a bridge between two domains—the tumultuous seas and the steadfast lands. Born from the convergence of water and earth, they inherited the power to bring water upon the land, nurturing the life that Uarin, God of Life, had seeded across the surface. This balance—tempest and tranquility—epitomized the intricate dance of creation, an equilibrium struck through Athailia's very essence.
Yet, within the realm of maritime trades, Athailia earned a reputation as a fickle and capricious deity. The tempests that they wielded with such fervor were seen as both blessings and curses, for Athailia's wrath could send sailors to their doom as easily as their gentle touch could guide a ship safely to shore. The sea, an embodiment of Athailia's domain, mirrored the deity's ever-changing moods—sometimes serene and reflective, other times thunderous and wild.
Amid the waves of devotion and uncertainty, the faithful and the mariners of the seas recognized Athailia as a deity to be appeased and revered. Temples along coastlines paid homage to the deity's mercurial nature, offering prayers for safe passage and calm waters. Sailors, gripped by the unpredictable power of Athailia's storms, sought to find favor with offerings and supplications, hoping to quell the deity's rage and harness their protection.
