The First Source Tree

The first Source-Tree (otherwise known as Aunt May's Source-Tree) was given to the first Fairy, Aunt May, by the Creator during the creation of Turien. The Density (homeland of the Fairies) was built/grown around this tree, leaving it as the centre. Over time it has grown and is the largest tree in the Density.   From the Creator comes messages that are written in the shedding bark of the tree (known as message-bark). As they come in, Aunt May and the Fairies send the messages to who they are meant to go to across all of Turien. As such, Fairies are known as the 'Messengers of Turien'.   Source-Trees represent the Creator's provision to Fairies. As long as a Fairy lives and grows with their Source-Tree, eating its fruit and caring for it well, both tree and Fairy will keep on living.   There are a number of rooms in this tree. Living spaces where Aunt May lives and receives guests. Rooms for the production and collection of message-bark - similar to a worn-out post-office.   Aunt May has not left the first Source-Tree for many, many centuries. Even though she was there at the creation of Turien, her stories before the time of Warbeast-kin, Dwarves, and Dark-Elves are scarce, with many a forgotten gap in her storytelling. There are many assumptions as to why this is, and how she was able to get control of the largest Source-Tree in Turien.
  • Aunt May could be lying.
  • She could have done some ancient Forbidden magic to allow her Source-Tree to grow so big.
  • She could just be getting on in her years.
  • She could have killed the missing Fairies of the first few generations, amalgamating their Source-Trees into her own.
  • The Source-Tree might actually be a special message tree from the Creator that Aunt May claimed as her own by planting her Source-Tree inside of it.
Many Fairies can be found flitting in and around Aunt May's Source-Tree, much to her delight.
