Observation Log of KLO Mimi Lakes: Indra Mayder, Ocean Diplomat

Analysemonth the 15th, Year 53 of the Century of the Nymphs, 26th Cycle The Council of Turien's Mermaid council member, Adira Mayder, has a sister named Indra Mayder, who is a diplomat that reports on the work of the Elders do to the Queen of the Mermaids. This job tends to be more of an overworked assistant.

Job Description

Title: Ocean Diplomat
Indra Mayder works primarily with the Northern Warrior Mermaid Edguard Unit and the Mermaid Queen, Nadiene Williams. She swims along the Great Forest coastline, in a special current reserved for Diplomats and Mermaid leaders, in order to fulfil her job.
As the Northern Warrior Mermaids live around The Point, which is to the north of Turien, and most Mermaids, including the Mermaid Queen, live in Mermaid Cove, which is to the South of Turien, there needs to be communication between them. There also needs to be communication between the Elders and Eguard, the Council of Turien (who commissioned them) and the Mermaid Queen (the non-Council representative of the Mermaids, and the Ocean). So, they do have Ocean-worthy communication devices. But, there is also a need for face-to-face communication. Particulalry when there is a delivery to be made, and especially if it is something sensitive or urgent.
Honestly, if there wasn't an Ocean Diplomat such as Mayder, then the Mermaid Queen would probably be swimming to north every second day to hand out with Elder Torii.
Before there was an Ocean Diplomat role, apparently, the Elders were the ones who acted as Ocean Diplomats and saw the Mermaid Queen in person. However, it was found that more things get done if it was a different person, not the Elders, that was involved. There was also less jealousy and fighting involved. Particularly in the case two Queens ago and her little brother - but that's a story for a different report.
The other side of Mayder's work is to act as an assistant to most of the Mermaid leaders. She is often sought out for solutions and cleaning up the administration ends of jobs. She is said to work hard, and doesn't like to let a job go unfinished. She is a lot more on task than most of my other Mermaid friends.

Dissappearances

Maybe it's because of her hard work, that whenever she gets a chance, Mayder disappears into thin Ocean. Sonar across the coastline doesn't find her - but she doesn't disappear for long, so long as she's back for dinner no one worries too much.
I always think it's pretty funny when a high class individual runs off whenever they get the chance. "Self care is important - and if that means stealing a break where I can, then I will do so," I, uh, heard from a random high class individual one day. I also think it makes them more fun. And I like fun people, so I like them.

Turtle Friend

It has been alleged that Mayder has a pet turtle. And that this turtle wears a clam for a hat. This turtle follows Mayder around, even though its extraordinarily rare that a turtle is ever seen outside of Turtle Island. Why is that, by the way? Did something happen to the turtles so that they don't like the rest if Turien or something?

I want a pet turtle. I would them Stephibamboomzler of Depths Awesomeness the First. And then when they have a child, they would be Stephibamboomzler of Depths Awesomeness the Second.

Conclusion

Indra Mayder is an Ocean Diplomat that save Elder Torri from having to deal with Queen Nadiene on a daily basis. She gets to swim in the exclusive Ocean current reserved for her and other Mermaid leaders in order to do her job. Which, as I'm told, she is very good at.
