Dark Elf
When a group of Humans split off and became Dwarves, a group of Elves split off and become Dark Elves. Following the foolish Humans to the Underground, they saved that group from the fatalities of Magic Moss. How they did so has become unclear through history though one may surmise that it wasn't pretty nor well thought out. Regardless, Dark Elves live in harmony with Dwarves and the Magic Moss that changed their DNA.
The stone purification magic of all Elves lead to pure black stone when a Dark Elf is the one doing the purification. Their skin is also in the darker ranges of black to almost black (with a variety of tones) and their hair is generally white.
The ruler of the Dark Elves is currently Damon King (Callum's father). He has ruled for over 500 years and will probably do so until he dies. He has not designated a particular crown prince or princess, but does keep the most talented and those with most achievements closest to him.
