King's city

The term "King's city" is used in the Hojan Confederation to describe a settlement that does not pay tax to local lord's and is not subjected to such lords laws or rulings.
All King's cities are governed directly by the King's council and the Highking himself, and all taxes are paid directly to the King's chests.
They are also hosting medium to large-sized contingents of His Hojan Confederate Majestie's Army, the HHCMA. While an Imperial Citiy might not have so, a King's city always has at least one large fortress to house that contingent as well as barracks to house the king's warriors.
