The Silver Rose

Many generations have created alterations in the story of the silver rose. Though all versions agree that this silver rose-shaped oblique pen holds great power.
When Nyarlathotep fell in love with the mortal celestial woman Jelleah, he set out on a quest so she could forever be by his side. If he writes the name of a subject in his tome with the juice of sacrifice, the subject is excepted from death. The juice of sacrifice is a fluid, prepared by a ritual requiring a sacrifice of something the subject values more than their own life. Once written (with any regular penning device), the juice will very slowly evaporate, requiring a renewed sacrifice once every Tred. Otherwise, the subject will become mortal once again.
The burden of this Tredly sacrifice stripped Jelleah of her will live. Losing something she held so dearly every Tred was no way of life. Nyarlathotep saw the inevitable. After losing all family members, her home town and everything she ever loved, he would be the only thing left to meet the sacrificial requirements. Afraid of his selfishness if presented with the choice between Jelleah and himself, he commissioned this unique pen. It is said that if the juice of sacrifice is written with the silver rose, the juice will never evaporate. This would lift the periodical sacrificial burden.
During the battle between the Great Old Ones and the First Alliance, the pen was stolen. The silver rose is rumored to be hidden in a strongly guarded Old Ones temple, for this indestructible pen would lower the chances of the Old Ones reigning ever again.
