Tsuwamono

Heavens Asunder Arc

Scope

The motivation behind building Tsuwamono

Tsuwamono is designed as a tabletop RPG of unprecedented scale with full freedom to explore and interact with the world on an epic level. While plot hooks and overarching themes are present in great quantity in the story to provide purpose and motivation, a central tenet of Tsuwamono's design is that the players can find characters to interact with and lore to explore no matter where they choose to go in the world.

The goal of the project

A fun tabletop campaign to be run weekly for a group of four to five players with memorable stories recorded here and in the memories of those involved

Tsuwamono's Unique Selling point

Tsuwamono has a few unique points that set it apart from an average game of Dungeons and Dragons:
  • Anima: A system with freedom and complexity well-suited for the anime-inspired aesthetic of Tsuwamono.
  • Historical Setting: Tsuwamono takes place in a fantasy setting inspired by and featuring historical figures from the Warring States (Sengoku) era of Japanese history. This is just the starting point for an adventure spanning countries and supernatural realms synthesized from reality, fiction, and original created works, all with a flavorful Tsuwamono spin on it.
  • Power: Player characters in Tsuwamono are rulers of great clans whose actions have world-spanning consequences. These individuals will be remembered for the rest of eternity in Tsuwamono's world as great figures who shaped history to their wills.
  • Freedom: Every location and idea in Tsuwamono has at least a basic concept to it, with more being actively fleshed out as players indicate their desired direction. This means that no matter where players choose to go, what characters they choose to interact with, or what plots they choose to engage with, challenge and adventure is waiting for them.
