Summary
A young woman from Baharna who became stranded in the mortal world after her capture at the hands of Black Galleon Slavers. Sothy holds a special position called "Kheatak" in the language of the Baharnans. Something like a witch doctor, and something like an assassin, it is the Kheatak's duty to kill enemies in the place of a clan's chief, so as not to dirty the leader's hands. This is normally accomplished by casting a curse or killing spell through a link established with one of the target's belongings. It is a sacred duty, though one that brings with it a great deal of sin. This position also makes Sothy an authority figure in the eyes of the other rescued Baharnans, and she now acts as their representative. She is quiet, complacent, and thoughtful most of the time, but quite dedicated when it comes to the safety of her companions. Sothy seems to be the type that feels the weight of responsibility strongly, and she will not be satisfied until she and those captured with her are returned to the Dreamlands safely. Though she is a competent spellcaster, she shows little interest in the occult. To her it is a duty, a too and a means to an end, rather than a field of study and interest in itself.
