Faelus

Despite being on the southern tip of The Continent, Faelus is actually not too involved in trading across the Shallow Sea. This is mainly due to the fact that it is the poorest region within the realm. Its large mountains make it difficult to traverse and whilst the abundance of construction materials is useful, the emperors have long exploited these resources without proper compensation. The situation is not made better by the large dwarven population still living in the mountains, who not only make travelling through the mountains more dangerous, but also take up considerable administrative space in the royal court. The local population mostly live in small settlements that pay taxes to the local ruler, but without much wealth of his own, the king of Faelus is a relatively insignificant player in the politics of the empire.
