Troyvalden

Toryvalden forms the south east corner of the Festall continent. It is a varied landscape of tropical forests, open plains and windswept coasts.

Geography

With its northern borders around the southern tropics, the majority of Troyvalden has tropical and subtropical climates. Summers are hot, humid and wet, with shorter drier winters. The southern reaches become more temperate, with rainfall more frequent near the coasts in winter. To the north lies The Fire Peaks, a huge volcanic mountain range. To the west is The Endless Sands, a large desert of shifting sands. A High Plateau connects the two. The Deepnal Ocean surrounds the south and east. The region is diverse both geographically and politically. Bordering the Endless Sands in the west is the Amathaan Empire , governing the broad savannah of Amath-Ra. The eastern border of the empire is the hilly Greinar Chain, a much more ancient chain of mountains running north-south. The dwarven fortress city of Vilknier is the most prominent settlement, but many smaller lordships claim dominion both over and under the fells. Moving further east, the rockier terrain gives way to the rolling grasslands of the Flussland . From the rice paddies of wetter, hillier north; through the endless grain fields of the central region; down to the vineyards and orchards of the south; the Flussland is the least wild part of Troyvalden. Four distinct states are united under the rule of the city state of Darstad. The eastern edge of Troyvalden is dominated by forests and wild lands. The tropical north is covered by the Erytill Jungle, which gives way to the more temperate dense woodlands of the Oscurmad further south. The low lying and swampy Batak Peninsula extends into the ocean.
