Sunya

Sunya is the Mayor of Sturmin, and therefore also the head of state of Narland. He was a successful and popular merchant, with a focus on long distance trade routes. This work took him away from Sturmin for much of his formative years, and he has travelled as far as the Amathaan Empire, Vilknier and even to Karok. He claims to have also visited Darstad and ventured into the Erytill, but this is disputed.
His extensive knowledge of cultures outside of Narland gives him a unique position to be able to negotiate trade treaties with foreign nobles, and he is generally well regarded. He has served as mayor now for 7 years, and is reaching the end of his tenure. He can be a little old fashioned, tending towards traditional business practices, extensive documentation of transactions, and centralised decision making within the guilds.
While he has a certain individual mandate from the guilds, he is also beholden to the decisions of the council, and while he has a voice in discussions, he does not get a vote on council matters.
