Narlounge

The Narlounge is a night entertainment venue in Sturmin. It is an underground establishment, affiliated with the Verborgen, and has a much more open approach to morality that most of Narland culture.   It has long been a common meeting place between members of the Verborgen and the Guild leadership, where under the table deals and brokered and illicit trade arranged. Recently, the Wihesmart have used it as a meeting place to influence guild policies.

Architecture

The Narlounge is in the basement of main Innholders' guildhall. Officially, it does not exist, and is accessible only by a small unmarked doorway in an alleyway to the side of the guildhall. The alley is only accessible from the rear, and the entrance is deliberately hidden from view from all main thoroughfares.   Once you've descended the two flights of unremarkable brick stairs down into the Narlounge itself, you can present your ticket(s) through a small box in the wall. A hidden door in the brickwork then swings open, and there is a sudden explosion of light and colour as you enter the main chamber. A large well lit stage fills the middle of the room, extending from the far wall, with an open space surrounding it on three sides. Low round metal tables are surrounded by a mishmash of sofas, easy chairs, floor cushions and simple metal stools. Around the edges of the room are small booths with fixed table and bench seats creating a slightly more private space for patrons. The walls and ceiling, especially around the stage, are shrouded in a combination of brightly coloured silk drapes, and black spiked chains.   Service hatches adorn the walls serving food and drinks, and at least a dozen small doors lead out of the main room in all directions.

Tourism

An evening's entertainment at the Narlounge may start out seeming not much different from many other establishments of Sturmin. In the early evening singers and instrmentalists perform traditional songs, compered by the enthusiastic Sanan. As the evening drags on, they are accompanied by dancers as the subject matter of the songs becomes increasingly risqué. The music continues, joined by contortionists, acrobats and jugglers. By this time, priestesses of Linchen have started to circulate on the floor, offering their services. While some patrons head off into side rooms, some choose to stay on the floor, sometimes continuing with their business dealings at the same time.   As midnight passes, the entertainment becomes much more explicitly sexual. Performers (and sometimes patrons!) put on a live show of sexual intercourse in all its varieties, with bondage, contortion and aerial acrobatics giving the whole show an impressively choreographed feel. Whereas the early parts of the evening feature performers who are predominantly Narlander humans and occasional dwarves, the later acts include less commonly seen races, including halflings, orcs, goblins, gnolls, and the starlet of the show herself, Nemorysha.
