The Memoria Link (Meh-more-ee-yah)

Written by BigMacWalk3r

"It was the first time I ever looked into the fetid eyes of an undead and saw a once living, breathing being stare back."

Discovery

During one of the many battles against the Risen King's undead legions, Joseph Zephero drove his hallowstone war-hammer into the cranium of the last of the undead warriors. Initially, most would die from such a blow. However, as Zephero attempted to pull the war-hammer from the skull of the undead, it looked him square in the eyes and muttered the paladins official title back to him - a title only his understudies would refer to him as. Zephero, emotionally shaken from the event, brought the undead corpse back to the Divinity Chappell and alongside high-ranking clerics discovered that the Hallowstone from his weapon may have caused a partial repair of the undead's memories. When the next undead wave struck, Joseph captured many of the remaining forces and brought them in for testing. Although it took several years, Divinity had discovered that, although rare, Hallowstone was somehow able to invigorate the brains memory functionality that occurred as a result of necromantic resurrection.

Accessibility

It is feared that if word got out that the undead could potentially return to a possible state of unity with the living that many would cause an uproar. Because of this, the medical cure of necromantic memory destruction titled 'The Memoria Link' is an incredibly guarded secret governed by the higher ranking officials of Divinity, the King and The Kingsman of Erysea.

Utility

The Memoria Link has a rare chance of re-establishing an undead's brain's ability to recall memories. In doing so, the 'mindless servant' becomes a functioning being of consciousness - albeit a limited one. Because of this, despite the process being both dangerous and only working a small percentage of the time, the incredible Memoria Link phenomena allows the forces of Divinity to obtain critical information from the undead warriors of the Risen Kings armies.
Inventor(s)
Although Joseph Zephero was its initial discoverer, the Gnomish Divinity cleric Voroe Fiskfern (Voh-roe fisk-fern) discovered how to successfully replicate The Memoria Link in several undead - and is therefore hailed as its dominant discoverer.
Complexity
A tool constructed of Hallowstone must be lodged into a specific section of an in-tact undead brain, this somehow invigorates the brains functionality - causing a partial return of memory.
