Abadante's Quill (A-bah-darn-tay-s)

Written by BigMacWalk3r

"To be able to write our hearts onto page with ink and quill and have it reach the possession of loved ones miles away is one thing, but to have that message transcend planar boundaries... that's a bit of an overkill, Abadante."

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Abadante's Quill is a magical item able to write a message with high-quality ink (the same used in magic scroll replication) that exists and is visible in every plane of existence. If the message is written on a surface that does not exist in another plane, then the message projects onto the closest tangible object to the original location of the scribe relative to that plane. Regardless of weathering, the messages left by Abadante's Quill never fade, scratch or wear away - although the objects the messages are written on can still be destroyed.

Significance

Many historical landmarks exist that have been scribed by the words of Abadante's Quill. One such landmark exists within the capital city of Lucretia, Erysea, in the form of Abadante's Rock. Because of this, many con-men have faked the writings of Abadante's Quill and have successfully sold souvenirs and tours of landmarks 'touched' by Abadante's Quill. However, any knowledgeable scholar will instantly discern the difference between a real or a fake - a quick casting of detect magic reveals immense levels of Conjuration magic. Because there exists only one quill of its nature, Abadante's quill is a hotly sought-after item, often exchanging hands through both legitimate transactions and unlawful theft. Many believe Abadante's Quill is currently lost, waiting for its new owner to be found.
