Mythfeild
Ruling house- House Terr
Other houses- House Cudgehl (In the lands to the south)
Ruling Great house- House Gelbvieh
Population- 23,882 reside in the main settlement of Mythfeild, often referred to simply as The Stones due to its scattered stone buildings and the fortress-stable at its heart. However, this number belies the true scope of the province’s people. Thousands more live nomadic lives, moving with the great herds of House Gelbvieh across the sea of grass and foothills. These herders, scouts, and warriors are as much a part of Mythfeild as its stones and soil.
Notable Features-
The Raptor Pits: A sacred arena and breeding ground for Terr-Raptors Raptors. Here, young riders train, and would-be leaders of House Terr fight for command. No outsider has ever walked these grounds and left unscarred—if they left at all.
The Stormplains: A stretch of flatlands notorious for sudden, violent weather and stampedes. Yet it remains a vital corridor for migrating Hadrosaur herds.
Stonefell Ridge: A jagged bluff overlooking the main settlement, said to be where the first Terr-Raptors was tamed. Bone totems and wind-chimes made of claw and fang rattle constantly in the wind.
The Great Bones: Half-buried in the hills are the petrified remains of an ancient behemoth—some believe it was a dragon, others a a god-beast. Local folklore claims House Terr's line began there.
Culture- Mythfeild is a land where strength is survival, and weakness is a slow death. Its people value grit, endurance, and loyalty. The laws of Commoner's and Noble's matter less than capability, as almost anyone but a Serf can rise through the ranks, from herder to champion, so long as they prove themselves. Songs are short and fierce, dances are stomping rituals performed before battle or during herd migrations, and most children are given a blade or beast by the time they can speak. Most families own at least one working animal. Whether a Hadrosaurs for labor, or a cow for milk. Stories are passed down around fire pits, often detailing great battles, herding feats, or close calls with rampaging beasts.
Outsiders often mistake Mythfeilders as simple. In truth, they live complex lives governed by unspoken codes, interwoven loyalties, and a deep respect for the land and the beasts that roam it.
History- Mythfeild’s roots stretch back beyond the Oligarchy’s founding, though few records remain. Oral legends say the land was once ruled by wild beast-tamers who communed with the saurians and fought off ancient monstrosities with bone weapons and fire. When the Oligarchy rose, House Terr chose alliance over resistance, striking a pact with House Gelbvieh that has endured for generations.
Unlike other provinces that grew soft under courtly politics, Mythfeild has remained lean and harsh. Its people never built marble halls or high towers. They carved their homes from stone and weathered storms under open skies. When other Houses fell to infighting or intrigue, Mythfeild endured—not because of strategy, but because no one wanted to risk battle against the raptor-riders in their own land.
In many ways, Mythfeild has not changed in centuries. And perhaps that is its greatest strength
