House Terr

House Terr

Province: Mythfeild

Leader: Hunn Terr

Economy: While Mythfeild lacks the fertile lands of other provinces, its economy thrives through symbiosis. House Terr’s wealth comes not from coin, but from its relationship with House Gelbvieh. As a vassal, House Terr is entrusted with herding and protecting Gelbvieh’s immense livestock caravans—chiefly Cattle, Hadrosaurs, Aurochs, and lesser beasts across the dangerous southern plains. In exchange, House Gelbvieh shields House Terr from the cutthroat political infighting of the Oligarchy, allowing the House to live a simpler life focused on strength, honor, and tradition. Though not wealthy by coinage standards, House Terr is rich in livestock, manpower, beast hides, and bonecraft. Their stables of Terr-Raptors alone are priceless—and feared.

Military: House Terr's military might is singular in its composition and feared for its savagery. At the heart of their forces are the Terr-Raptor Riders, elite warriors who have bonded with their saurian mounts since youth. Their lightning raids and brutal charges can scatter larger, slower forces, and no one in the south knows the terrain like they do. Their tactics are mobile, feral, and relentless. Riders communicate through war-cries, horn blasts, and even hand signs known only to the house. Skirmishers and beast-tamers support the cavalry, often carrying bolas, hooks, and alchemical darts for controlling or subduing rogue beasts during herding or war .Though lacking in siege capability or heavy infantry, House Terr rarely fights prolonged wars. Instead, they strike fast, precisely, and brutally. Their loyalty to House Gelbvieh makes them a reliable and indispensable shock force in times of conflict.

History: House Terr is older than parchment in the southeast—an oral legacy passed down in blood and bone rather than ink and quill. Their origins are shrouded in mist and myth, but it is said they were once wild beastmasters, taming the terrible saurians of the hills long before the rise of the Oligarchy. Unlike many noble lines, House Terr does not place stock in noble birth alone. Their rite of succesion is open to all. Noble or serf, warrior or stablehand. When a leader dies, a great contest is held, and only the strongest, fastest, and cleverest may rise. This tradition has earned them the scorn of more “refined” Houses, who view them as uncouth savages. House Terr, in turn, laughs behind sharpened teeth.

Their bond with House Gelbvieh began generations ago, likely during the early founding of the Oligarchy. House Gelbvieh needed protectors for their sprawling herds, and House Terr found in them an ally that let them live according to their own values. Some say this is a cage disguised as freedom. Others say it is the smartest bargain ever struck.

Regardless, House Terr endures—unyielding, unsophisticated, and utterly deadly.
